Basic Crime Scene Photography - Bristol, VA

This course is designed to introduce crime scene investigators to photographic theory and the basics of crime scene photography used during a systematic approach to a crime scene investigation. The course will teach these principles using Digital Single Lens Reflex (SLR) camera equipment. The Department of Forensic Science will supply ALL necessary equipment to complete the course, however, attendees may choose to bring their own or agency issued equipment provided it is a Digital SLR and includes all applicable equipment (flash unit, close-up rings, etc). If you choose to bring outside equipment, please bring the corresponding manuals as well and be familiar with its basic operation. **If a laptop is available to you, please make every effort to bring it to the class to review your work product.**

This course will be limited to 12 students and is restricted to personnel from Virginia law enforcement agencies.

The course will be taught by the DFS Forensic Training Section at the Southwest Virginia Criminal Justice Training Academy located at 330 Bonham Road, Bristol, VA 24201 beginning at 8:30 A.M. each day.

The registration will close on at 5:00PM unless the course receives an overwhelming number of applications, which will prompt closing the course sooner.

It is very important that you include your duties and responsibilities when prompted during the application process; that information is needed to be considered for this course.
