Hanover County, VA is the new location for the Virginia Department of Forensic Science (DFS) Central Laboratory and Office of the Chief Medical Examiner (OCME). Relocating in early 2026, this 281,000-square-foot facility serves as the headquarters and lab for state forensic services. Located near commercial and municipal areas, including Mechanicsville High School and the Bon Secours Memorial Regional Medical Center.
