Mechanicsville, VA is the new location for the Virginia Department of Forensic Science (DFS) Central Laboratory and Office of the Chief Medical Examiner (OCME). Relocating in early 2026, this 281,000-square-foot facility serves as the headquarters and lab for state forensic services. Located near commercial and municipal areas, including Atlee High School and the Bon Secours Memorial Regional Medical Center.
