DFS Leadership Sworn into Spanberger Administration

Director Linda C. Jackson and Chief Deputy Director Amy C. Jenkins were officially sworn into the Spanberger Administration on May 4 during a ceremony at the Patrick Henry Building in Richmond.

The ceremony, held from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m., was conducted by the Honorable Candi Mundon King, Secretary of the Commonwealth, and included leadership appointees from agencies across the Public Safety and Homeland Security Secretariat. During the event, appointees also received official administration lapel pins.

Director Jackson and Chief Deputy Director Jenkins joined fellow public safety leaders taking the oath of office, including representatives from the Department of Criminal Justice Services, Virginia Department of Emergency Management, Virginia Department of Fire Programs, Department of Juvenile Justice, Department of Corrections, and the Virginia State Police.

In his remarks, Secretary Stanley M. Meador explained that he organized the swearing-in ceremony to remind agency appointees of the importance of their roles and to have them formally reaffirm their commitment to serving the Commonwealth of Virginia.
